Eucalyptus Bloom is ON

There’s a load of eucalyptus trees nearby and everyday I drive by I take a look at them to see if they have bloomed yet. This flow is an important one for our bees here in the San Francisco Bay Area. An experienced beek told me that during the good years, his bees can fill a super full of honey just from the Eucalyptus flow. And for those of us who rescue bees in the late Fall, this bloom is even more crucial to the bees’ survival.

Right now the bloom isn’t full blown yet. I see some trees have none, some just started to fruit, and some are blooming big time. Must be the weird weather we are having this year as I notice some privets are also blooming again right now!
