In California the Winter months does not mean that the bees have no forage. Actually there are plenty right now. As long as the bees can get out, meaning warm weather and no rain, they can work the plants or trees that are flowering.
Right now the Eucalyptus is in full bloom. I drive by a large row of them daily and the trees are covered with white flowers. Also the Rosemary bushes are full of flowers. I was actually taking an afternoon walk during work and noticed bees working the Rosemary flowers.
Fruit trees such as peach, apricot, apple, pear, and others will be blooming soon especially with this mid to high 60’s weather we have had for two weeks.
