Krzich Hive Update

The Krzich Colony was rescued last Thursday so just wanted to provide a quick update. Friday was a busy day at work so didn’t have time to inspect. Then weather turned wet over the weekend.

What we need to do this week is to remove the extra medium hive box that was used as part of the bee vac. Also add two frames of capped honey from a deadout and a frame of pollen, although if the weather is nice they can easily gather their own right now as I see the other hives bringing in lots of nectar and pollen.

Today, Sunday it rained in the morning but the bees were foraging. Then in the afternoon a lot more bees came out to forage and do their orientation flights. Here’s a video i shot from my iPod touch when the rain stopped.
