Adopt A Bee Hive – Spuraway Hive Adopted

The San Mateo Bee Hive has been adopted. My dad and I will be relocated the honey bee colony tomorrow morning to a wonderful house in Woodside, California.

Sealed up with screen and duct tape. Relocation begins!

The Spuraway hive was a San Mateo swarm that was rescued a couple of weeks back but because of their huge numbers and a swarm’s capabilities on building at super-speeds, this healthy colony has filled nine medium frames in a hurry, the queen is laying good with brood and eggs at all levels, and bees are overflowing having to really pack it in after dark. Once relocated I recommend the new owner to immediately add another brood box beneath this current hive box.
