Sunnyvale Bee Removal – Swarm Settled in Recycle Bin

Just got a call from Susan, a potential new beekeeper who needs to get the ok from her husband, this morning regarding a swarm of honey bees that made home in their recycle bin. Bee relocations like these don’t come any easier. They have started building comb so that means they should stay put. I’ll go hive them and catch the queen after lunch and leave the box there to collect all the foragers. Bring them back to my yard at night and let them reorient. Then wait for Susan to inform me of her decision to keep the bees or not and hopefully that’s a yes and I’ll set her up.

Here’s a picture Susan of Sunnyvale sent in on the bees in her recycle bin.
