Palo Alto Bees – Site Check

Doing a little catching up. Last week Annie from Palo Alto called me saying they have a bee problem at the eve of their roof. She wasn’t sure if it was honey bees, wasps, or yellow jackets. So last Friday I went for a site check since it’s not too far from my parent’s place.

Arrived and looked up at the eve of the roof, honeybees. There is a huge hole at the corner where the bees are entering. Anyways, called Annie and let her know that they are indeed honeybees and the plan to remove them. Well, the house has been on the market for at least 65 days and she didn’t like the idea of cutting the drywall to remove the bees and then having to do the repairs. She said she will call Terminix and hung up. Didn’t even give me a chance to tell her that spraying the bees will most likely not kill the colony plus if the liquid spray and honey starts leaking through the drywall, it would mean cutting the wall open to remove the bees the correct way. Oh well. I do my best to educate and save our bees but I cannot be the super hero everyday. šŸ™‚
