Adopt A Bee Hive – Portofino Hive Set Up For A New Beekeeper In Los Altos

Early this morning my dad and I delivered the hive to Tom’s place in Los Altos. We helped him set the hive up and talked a little before we left for our chimney bee removal in Menlo Park. This hive, two mediums tall,  is full of bees, brood, pollen, and honey. The bees have moved to the lower medium and have used up the honey that was at the top box. But during our last inspection I noticed them filling the top box again. With our warm weather lately the bees have gone wild and started to build up quickly. They will soon move up there and fill it with nectar and brood. I’ll be going back in a week or two to coach Tom through his first inspection and teach him some beekeeping 101.

Thanks Tom for adopting this hive!
