Bee Removal – Oops, Paper Wasps

Went for a bee removal this afternoon but it ended up to be a paper wasp nest. I can’t believe how early in the season the paper wasps and yellow jackets are building up this year.

Beekeepers, we might need to set out some yellow jacket traps near our hives this year. Homeowners, be careful around yellow jackets and paper wasps, they are aggressive insects. Honeybees won’t bother you even if you accidentally bump the hive, but if you just get near a nest of a wasp or yellow jacket, they will engage.
