Beehive Inspection – Blackstone Colony

We had a little time inbetween our meetings today to inspect a few of our new hives from swarms. First the Blackstone colony hived a couple of weeks back in San Jose. This colony grew exponentially filling one medium in 10 days. We had to add a second medium today for them to expand. Check out the pictures.

A frame filled with capped worker brood. Notice the pollen and honey around the brood.

And here’s our mighty queen. She’s big!
