Adopt A Beehive – New Home With Much New Forage

Saturday morning was perfect for a beehive delivery and a quick beekeeping 101 lesson with Ali and Kat. Drove into the hills and not seeing much for the bees to forage on but when I drove up to their house, OMG, their entire property was planted I think just for bees. 🙂 There are tons of echium blooming right now along with many others. Rosemary and Eucalyptus are also on site for a Winter nectar source. Pretty awesome.

Ali and Kat adopted a booming hive with a nice looking large golden queen, though she did get darker in color since my last inspection prior to delivery. We had to add a second medium on top after our short lesson.

Ali and my dad inspecting a frame. Ali is focused on spotting the queen bee.

Kat and Ali with their very first beehive. Thanks for adopting these wonderful honeybees!
