Bee Swarm Under Umbrella – San Jose Bee Rescue

Around dinner time tonight I received a call from Breatriz of San Jose. She spotted a bee nest under her umbrella and wasn’t sure what kind of bees they were. So she texted me picture of a bee and the hive and indeed they were honeybees. (See blog post before this one for the texted picture). It was actually a swarm of honeybees.

This one was really easy to hive. Slap the top of the umbrella and most of the bees went into the box. My dad spotted the queen quickly and we caged her. 🙂

Beatriz and her kids got a chance to see a queen bee this evening. 🙂

Thanks for calling us to save our local honeybees and for the generous donation!
