MVDennis Hive Brings Back Childhood Memories – Menlo Park -Adopt-A-Hive

About a month ago Rachel and Knute contacted me regarding getting a hive for their backyard. When Knute was young, he and his father would work on the hives together, and now being avid gardeners they would like to add a bee hive to their charming backyard. Rachel and Knute adopts the Mountain View Dennis Hive that was rescued last November 25 feet up in a tree as it was an external colony. We brought them down and hived them safely before the first big storm hit. Today the hive is quickly growing strong. The large queen is laying super nice patterns and has brood of all stages, plus they have a good amount of stores to support the colony and more.

Thanks Rachel and Knute for adopting these gentle honeybees!

Hey- thanks again, Jack! We’re very excited to have this hive, and also really appreciate
your beekeeping lesson while we set it up. The bees seem very happy in their new home!

  2. Andrea says:

I’m so glad those bees have a new home and are doing well. I think about them every day when I walk my dog past the tree where they used to live.
