Saratoga Bee Removal – Two Queens in a Swarm

The third swarm of the day(Friday) brought us to Saratoga. The swarm landed on the backyard fence and we had to vacuum the bees up as we had late afternoon arrangements and didn’t want to drive all the way back to Saratoga to pick up the box of bees. We actually saw and vacuumed one queen before she could run through the cracks of the fence to the other side. The picture below is the second queen we caught minutes after we vacuumed the first.

When we got home to hive the swarm of bees we caught the queen we vacuumed.

We used one of the queen in a queenless colony.
