Attic Vent Hole Colony Rescued – Los Altos Bee Removal

Yup, another colony of bees that recently moved into the attic through the vent holes. It’s common for honeybees to find these locations suitable for their new home and we remove many each year. This one was a little trickier. Usually it’s fairly easy to cut the block and expose the hive. This one took a while to cut open because they had 2 pieces of 2×6 PLUS a piece of plywood! But nothing is too complicated for the Sawzall. 🙂

These girls built further in than normal but we were still able to reach them. See what they have built in less than a week! Swarms build up super fast.

Here’s our mighty queen.

Thanks Michelle and neighbor Amy for calling us to save our local honeybees!
