Swarms, Weather, Bloom

2014 did not start off so well. We are going into a drought and my neighbor said the bees are draining his pool (it was a joke! But he did notice more bees getting a drink). The warm weather has caused the bloom to start a tad earlier in this region. I see the early blooming almond trees at full bloom already. I just got back from a business trip and my dad today told me that the hives are jammed packed with bees and swarmed! But what’s going to happen with this weather? If the bees swarm and we get heavy rains that could potentially harm new colonies. But if we don’t get rain it’s going to be a short nectar flow season. Hoping for the best!
