Swarm Split Into Two – Mountain View Bee Removal

Monday morning I received a call from John of Mountain View that he has a swarm on a young tree and have been there since Saturday. Here’s a picture he texted me.

I couldn’t get there until late afternoon and by the time I got there the swarm split into two. There must have been multiple queens. One cluster moved to a high branch which I wasn’t equipped to capture at this time.

The other half moved lower! Below the tree on some flowers.

Cut and shake, caught the queen and 99.9% of the bees actually went into the box. So I was able to take them home right away.

The swarms came out of the hives from the tree.

Thanks John for calling us to save the honey bees!
