External bee colony in Los Altos Hill

Will relocate this external colony next weekend in Los Altos Hills. These will be moved to my place for two weeks and going back to the same homeowner who wants to start beekeeping.

Relocating An External Bee Colony in Sunnyvale

Last week before I flew out to Shanghai my dad and I relocated an external honey bee colony in Sunnyvale. Saw five open queen cells. No brood. Found a new small queen within the bees.

Relocating Bees in Sprinkler Valve Boxes

Last week removed two queenless colonies from sprinkler valve boxes, one in downtown Mountain View and the second at Great America. Both had at least 6-7 opened queen cells.

Virgin Queen Emerges, Drinks Honey

While going through the hive to remove queen cells a new queen bee emerges from her cell. First thing she does is consumes honey.
